● Make sure your hands are dry and clean before touching the test strips. Read the instructions provided carefully for thorough guidance.
Collecting the Sample:
● Take a fresh urine sample in a dry, clean container. It is better to use first-morning urine, but a later sample may also be used depending on the kit instructions.
Performing the Test:
● Take a test strip out of its sealed packaging.
Submerge the test strip into the urine sample, up to the line marked (typically labeled "MAX").
Hold the strip in the urine for the indicated time (typically a few seconds as stated in the instructions).
Waiting for Results:
● Place the test strip on a flat, clean surface and wait for results to show (usually 3-5 minutes).
Interpreting the Results:
● Positive Result: When two lines are seen—one test line and one control line—and the test line is as dark as or darker than the control line, it is a sign of an LH surge, and ovulation is imminent.
● Negative Result: When a single line is seen (the control line) or the test line is lighter than the control line, there is no detectable LH surge, and ovulation is not imminent.
Disposal:
● Discard the used test strip and any unused urine sample according to local disposal policies.
Recording Results:
● Mark down your results and monitor them over a few days to assist in determining your ovulation pattern.
